USP organised the entire conference staff to ensure smooth running of this high-level, global event.
Chaired by Switzerland, the Ministerial Council Meeting of the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE) was held on the Basel premises of Messe Schweiz in December 2014. The Federal Department of Foreign Affairs (FDFA), chaired by President of the Swiss Confederation Didier Burkhalter, was in charge of organising this conference under the watchful eyes of the international media. Burkhalter also held the OSCE Chairmanship in 2014. The FDFA established a task force specifically to organise this major event. It selected dany alder ag as general contractor for planning and organisation of the conference.
USP took charge of the entire conference staff to ensure smooth running of this important event. Over 100 people were recruited to meet the requirements. Among other areas, they worked in media support, in the preparation and support of delegate meetings, the management and reservation of conference rooms, at all points of entry to welcome international guests and in providing assistance during the supporting programme. Managers were also recruited for the individual areas to take charge of specific tasks at the door. Coordinating with the responsible persons from the FDFA and the OSCE, Dominik Nyffenegger, CEO | Partner at USP, was responsible for the organisation and overall management of staff during the conference.
In the run-up to the event, USP was responsible for the entire planning of project staff and for the preparation of detailed work rosters. The agency was therefore able to contribute its considerable expertise to this major event as early as the concept phase. Special casting calls were organised in cooperation with the customer to hand pick the individual staff members and to assign them to various tasks, depending on their suitability. USP organised a large-scale training programme to ensure that all staff members received professional preparation for the conference project. USP added the finishing touches to its conference solution by delivering additional services such as dress code management.
By completing this project, USP was able to continue strengthening its leading position in the organisation, coordination and deployment of professional trade fair, conference and event staff.
